Career Summary

John Minor joined Spake Real Estate in September of 2008 from Sperry Van Ness. John brings his Multi-Family specialization and overall investment property knowledge to our investment property division. To date, John has closed over $32 million in investment property sales.

Before working in commercial real estate, John spent seven years in the financial world as a private wealth manager with qualified
investors in a fund of funds investment strategy. It was in this role where John developed an appreciation and respect for numbers, thereby influencing John’s gravitation towards investment properties. John’s initial business experience after receiving his college degree was spent in the hotel industry. He managed a Homewood Suites in Tacoma Washington and coordinated the
franchise sales efforts at Red Roof Inns in Columbus Ohio. These experiences acquainted him with the financial numbers behind
managing properties which has served him well when analyzing investment properties for both Buyers and Sellers.

John came to Spake Real Estate to add value within our investment property division but also to get involved in a broader range of commercial property experiences. He is handling retail and office leases, and land sales as

Education

  • John received a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Florida. He also attained a Masters in Science with a specialization in Organizational Performance from Western North Carolina.

Personal

Originally from Memphis, John has been in Asheville for twelve years. He and his wife Janay have two daughters: Riley and Rowan. He has played soccer since he was six and currently plays for the Asheville Wizards FC. He is part of the travel squad that participates in the NC state cup and an annual tournament in Charleston. He enjoys camping with his daughters and date nights with his wife Janay.
